We are based in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England, and were formed in 1957. We offer a full range of Scuba Diving training courses and organise dive trips both in the UK and abroad.

If you have never experienced the joys and thrills of scuba diving why not come along for a "Try Dive" taster session at the main Halifax swimming pool. For a time limited period our Try Dives cost £15.00/person (normally £25.00) further discounts available or group bookings.
The cost of the Ocean Diver Course with Halifax BSAC is £350.00

Dive Theory Lessons and Assessment Test:
There are a number of Theory lessons, normally done in a relaxed classroom type environment, after all the theory lessons and some study time there is an assessment test. This test is a multi-choice test and questions are all relevant to the theory lessons. There are NO Trick questions.

Weights if needed
Dry-Suit for your final sheltered water lesson, this will be hired from our associate dive equipment hire shop prior to starting the Open water training.
You will need to supply Swim wear, T-Shirt (which you don’t mind getting wet. Note the chlorine in the pool water will sometimes cause fading, so don’t bring your best “G-Star T-Shirt”. Ladies should wear 1 piece swim wear (bikinis aren’t very practical for diving)
Open Water Training
For your Open Water Training (Normally done at Capernwray Dive Centre) You will need full Open Water SCUBA equipment. This is normally hired from our associate dive equipment hire shop and will consist of the following:
Thermal Under suite
Weights + Weight Belt
Open-Water Regulator Set
Boots (if required)
Mask & Snorkel
The Course fees cover the hire of this equipment
Membership to Capernwray Dive Centre
Entry to the Dive Centre
Air Cylinder re-fills at Caperrnwray
On your first visit to the hire shop you will be accompanied by one of our experienced divers, this ensures you get the right equipment.
What you will need to supply at your expense
Your lunch (Capernwray has catering facilities)
Travel to and from the Dive Centre Car sharing is a good idea as it cuts the travel expenses.
At this stage of your Ocean Diver Training most students have bought their own Mask and Snorkel.
